Your Devon and Cornwall Wedding - May/June 2024 (Issue 49)

My dad’s sea shanty group, the Cobweb Crew sang as we walked down the aisle, during our ceremony and the canapés and Pimms drink reception. Our bridesmaids were transported in a sheep trailer! I dried out bunches of lavender picked from the gardens belonging to both of our mums to display around the marquee. Our bridesmaids wore different dresses in the same dusky pink colour theme and the flowergirls looked so pretty in dresses with silk sashes made by my mum. We were so lucky that our parents, siblings and friends were eager to help. We couldn’t have achieved what we did without the amazing support from everyone - it took a village to achieve our vision.” - Becky and Josh A local band called Blue Orion performed Josh and our groomsmen wore the same linen oat-coloured suits and Josh added a St. Piran Cornish tartan tie to stand out. I teamed my dress with a veil, a pair of pearl drop earrings and my wedding ring that previously belonged to my grandmother. I wore the bridal gown called Lola from Made with Love. I loved the sparkle and comfort that it offered. My friend, Alice altered it by adding a split in the skirt which made it feel comfortable to dance in. 36
