Q&A Beauty Beauty and wellbeing brand Rituals has just opened a new store in Truro, Cornwall. Alun Jones, Truro BID manager tells us, “We have recently had an encouraging number of new businesses opening in Truro, so we are thrilled that Rituals has opened in the city centre.” Alan adds, “We welcome Rituals to Truro, as the national luxury home and body cosmetics brand will help to entice customers to the high street, and will be a great addition to the city’s current mix of national and independent shops in Cornwall’s retail capital.” Annemarie Forsyth, managing director, of Rituals Cosmetics (UK & Ireland), says: “The new Rituals store will help customers to achieve a sense of well-being by finding the perfect products that will help them to balance the body, mind and soul. This opening marks an exciting time for the brand in growing our retail presence across the UK.” www.rituals.com/en-gb/home What’s new? MODEL LOOKS Meet the expert: Amy Elizabeth is a professional make-up artist based in Devon who created the model’s look for our photo shoot at Gara Rock hotel and spa on page 47. Here, she tells us how to get the look. Amy says: Always make sure that your skin is hydrated and treated with quality serums and facial mists because all make-up products sit best on hydrated skin. Base your foundation on the level of coverage you would like and what finish you prefer on your skin. Nars, Chanel and Armani foundations are my favourites. Buff into the skin and finish by using a damp beauty blender to soften any edges. Look for luminous products to make your skin appear radiant. Hourglass cosmetics is a brand favoured by make-up artists for this. Powder only through the T-zone so that you don’t look oily or sweaty. Natural make-up can still look great on camera. If it’s too natural though, it won’t show up much because professional cameras will make it look softer, especially next to your bridal hairstyle and wedding dress. Finally, individual lashes look softer than traditional strips and can be built up for an eye-framing look. www.amy-elizabeth.com www.clarekinchinphotography.co.uk CHATHAM PARTNERS WITH JOULES FOR SUMMER 2024 Exeter-based Chatham, the market leader of lifestyle, marine and country footwear, perfect for honeymoons in the region has unveiled its new footwear collection for 2024 and has revealed a new brand partnership and collection collaboration with British country clothing brand, Joules. Starting from the Summer 2024 season, Chatham and Joules will be launching a joint footwear collection, which is comprised of three seasonal deck shoes, showcasing the best of both brands. Using the highest quality materials, the new collection features a ladies canvas deck shoe in pink, blue and green called Jetty alongside Pier, a moccasin deck shoe made in tan nubuck. There’s also Boardwalk for men, a moccasin nubuck deck shoe in tan and navy. Prices start from £59 and perfectly blend the design characteristics loved by Chatham and Joules customers. The collaboration comes at an exciting time for both Chatham and Joules, as they enter their 35th year of business, and Chatham begins its next chapter, following a rebrand for 2024. Designed collaboratively, the collection features elements which customers would expect from Joules, including pastel colours and its iconic, pinstripe lining on the inside of the garments. Philip Marsh, managing director at Chatham, comments, “I am very proud of the collaboration between Chatham and Joules – it is one that we have been excited about for a long time and one that makes perfect sense. Both brands were born from a love for the outdoors, and we look forward to sharing this new collection with our customers.” Tom Joule, the founder of Joules, comments, “What a great collaboration between Joules and Chatham. As a fellow British brand with countryside and coastal heritage, Chatham immediately understood our brand values – we’re both connected in our love for classic styles with a contemporary twist. “The collection has been hand-crafted from quality materials with each pair carrying carefully considered details. I probably shouldn’t have a favourite, but the preppy pastel colour, canvas construction and sporty, striped lining of Jetty will be the star of our Summer collection.” www.chatham.co.uk 78
