Your Devon and Cornwall Wedding - January/February 2023 (Issue 41)

LOOKING THE PART Aisa chose a classic plain ivory satin dress with a corset top and lace-up back. “I teamed it with a jewelled belt and cape,” she tells us. “It was beautiful and fitted me so well. My earrings featured Swarovski crystals and my necklace was handmade using blue sea glass by a local Devon-based company.” Andy and his two best men chose a blue suit and waistcoat finished with ties and buttonholes. “Our three children were a part of the wedding party,” Aisa tells us. “They wore a long, navy sleeveless gown; a sparkly sequinned gold and dusky pink layered dress and a blue suit and waistcoat.” TIME TO CELEBRATE Aisa and Andy hired a duo band called Cockney Jock who travelled from Norfolk to perform for them.”We chose them because our first dance song called Africa by Toto was something that they could perform,” Aisa explains. During the break, I sang four songs, the first being At Last by Etta James for my new husband because the song reflects how I feel about him and how I am so happy that we met.” The couple’s friend Amanda was their DJ during the evening. “She finished the night off brilliantly,” they tell us. “Realising that we hadn’t booked a DJ, she drove all the way home to collect her equipment and on arrival back at the venue, realised she had left half of her music on the driveway – so she had to go back again and collect it! That is dedication and an example of a friend going more than the extra mile for your special day.” The couple also had a sweetie cart, glow sticks, tattoos, colouring and bubbles for the little ones and a bouncy castle which both the adults and children enjoyed!” “Our wedding planners, Sophie and Dominic ensured our day went without a hitch. They had everything covered including the little touches like having our favourite drinks ready to hand to us the minute we had finished the ceremony.” - Aisa and Andy 47 REAL WEDDINGS
