Aisa and Andy met online. “We shared a mutual love for the comedy show League of Gentlemen and our first conversation was about whether pineapple belongs on a pizza!” Aisa tells us. Andy proposed to Aisa on 19th September 2020. “We were enjoying a long weekend in Newquay when he asked me and when we arrived home and told the children, they were so happy.” The couple wanted a relaxed, romantic and chilled wedding somewhere that they could have the ceremony and reception all in one place. “We didn’t want any stress, just a beautiful day with a music festival vibe and Humber Barn offered us this.” SETTING THE SCENE The couple’s theme was apparent throughout their details. “Our centrepieces were wood slices topped with glass jars wrapped in hessian and filled with beautiful dried flowers including pampas grass, eucalyptus and gypsophila,” Aisa tells us. “We also had flower wands, corsages and buttonholes containing thistles to incorporate the blue in our theme. We said our vows under a beautiful flower garland which I made myself and we also had large light-up Mr & Mrs letters and bunting to decorate the venue with.” Aisa also made the favours. “I run a small chutney and jam business and so I made jars of tomato, red onion, beetroot and mango chutney decorated with thank you tags tied with brown twine and personalised labels featuring our names and the date of our wedding,” she explains. “I also added small Belgian chocolates. Our serviettes were navy to tie in with the theme and we had a plan for the top tables seating our immediate family members and groomsmen with their families but the rest was very relaxed because we wanted people to mingle and sit with who they wanted to and enjoy themselves.” The couple’s cake was made by their friend, Jenna. It was amazing,” Aisa tells us. “The large bottom tier of chocolate cake was filled with thick chocolate ganache, the middle tier was a rich carrot cake and the final tier was Victoria sponge covered in buttercream, edible flower petals and topped with a handmade clay topper of Andy and I.” “We chose a stunning convertible Alvis TA21 as our wedding car. Having the opportunity (at the suggestion of the driver) to have a 20-minute drive together after the ceremony, just the two of us, was wonderful.” - Aisa 45 REAL WEDDINGS
