Your Cheshire and Merseyside Wedding - March/April 2025 (Issue 80)

We had crackers on each table as wedding favours. There were four long tables to reflect the four Hogwarts houses, and the crackers were coordinated to match each house colour. I also wrote Harry Potter related jokes, to go inside them along with themed prizes. I chose an Allure Bridals dress from Liverpool Bridal Boutique, and had it customised with the addition of sleeves. It was a proper fairytale gown! I accessorised with a Jon Richards tiara and as the gown had such a long train, I decided against a veil. Each of my bridesmaids wore a black dress. Three were off-the-shoulder, while the maid-of-honour wore a slightly different design. Each was accessorised with different coloured jewellery, shawls, flowers and eye make-up based on their houses. My bouquet included a mixture of all four Hogwarts house colours and each of the bridesmaids represented a different house with bouquets to match. Aaron wore a black suit as did the rest of his party. The groomsmen wore black waistcoats with theirs, whereas Aaron chose a grey version with a grey tie. Each of the four best men had a pocket square reflecting the colour of the house they represented. We also gifted our guests biscuits as favours. Again, each one was iced to match the colour of the house table the guest was seated at and personalised with our names and the famous Harry Potter quote: ‘After all this time... Always.’ We sourced our place names from the Alzheimer’s Society, as my nan suffers from the disease and was sadly unable to attend. Each one came with a forget-me-not brooch, which we encouraged guests to take home and wear. 31 REAL WEDDINGS
