Your Cheshire and Merseyside Wedding - January/February 2025 (Issue 79)

Q&A Beauty Look and feel your big day best with help from the professionals Q WHAT BRIDAL BEAUTY TRENDS DO YOU EXPECT TO SEE IN 2025? Zowie Pointing from In Her Kit (www.inherkit.com) says: New York Bridal Fashion Week AW25 showed us some amazing collections that are going to change the direction of bridal fashion for the foreseeable. Looking at the style of dresses, from corsets and basques (amazing for all shapes and sizes) to lace making a comeback, along with the more playful, short, party wedding dress. Bridal hair and beauty has also taken a different direction. With the words cinched, snatched and sculpted being used in almost every presentation it’s no surprise the hair and make-up has followed the same narrative. Gone are your typical bridal hair styles with more sleek looks set to be popular. I’m thinking centre partings with a low, simple bun. For shorter hair, a blunt look with undone waves will be the perfect way to understate a short, party-style wedding dress. The princess updo is my absolute favourite, think Pammy Anderson. Suitable for all hair types, with some added extensions this style will compliment any face shape with any dress. Lynsay Parry from Lynsay Adele Bridal (www.facebook.com/lynsayadelebridal) says: Dewy, hydrated, buttery skin is definitely here to stay for 2025; but oily-skinned brides shouldn’t fret, with the right skin prep and finishing powders you can get the look of dewy skin while keeping the oil at bay. My favourite products to create this look are Lisa Eldridge Seamless Skin Foundation, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder and Milk Hydro Grip Setting Spray. Consider a new skincare regime a few months before your wedding day to get your skin in top condition. I also love Sunday Riley, Good Genes Glycolic Acid for brightening skin and for shrinking enlarged pores, Paula’s Choice, BHA Salicylic Acid is great. For lips, lose the heavy contoured matt lip, the preferred choice of 2025 is a softly-lined pout filled with a translucent colour that’s juicy and moist but not super glossy. My favourite products are Kosas Hotliner, Hyaluronic Liner and Wet Stick Moisture Lip Shine. For the more adventurous bride, red lips are trending for 2024 /2025 and I can see them passing into the bridal scene. Remember, if red isn’t quite your thing but you want to wear a stronger lip colour for your day there are lots of alternatives. Try Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in shades First Dance or Mrs Kisses. Let the lips be the focus and keep eye makeup soft. The new year brings a lot more choice in brow styles, even the micro brow is making a comeback. In general, brides are wearing brows a lot more natural with a soft definition. Hair will be timeless and romantic, with brides opting for either soft pined-up waves, a modern pleat or a sleek chignon or bun.
