Outside We round up some of our favourite quirky local venues ST LUKE’S BOMBED OUT CHURCH 0151 374 0366 | www.slboc.com Tucked away in the heart of the Liverpool City Centre, this one-of-a-kind venue offers a picturesque, idyllic oasis away from the hustle and bustle. It’s an iconic landmark in the city and holds a wealth of history and memories – now it’s time to make your wedding day part of that! From 1952, St Luke’s Bombed Out Church has been categorised as an official Grade II listed building, and due to its moving history, the church has since become a managed ruin that’s home to community projects, events, weddings and more. Specialising in bespoke big days, where no amount of guests is too few, the team will work with you to devise a seating plan and build the wedding of your dreams from the ground up since this is the epitome of a blank canvas venue. Maximum capacity is 250 and price and layout are discussed based on your requests. An open-air ceremony within the church ruin gives you exclusive access to the inside grounds from 12pm to 2pm. White bistro chairs are available to you as well as the use of two church pews. Alternatively, you can opt for a Chancel Roof Ceremony, where you’ll also have access to the inside grounds from 12pm to 2pm, and have use of limewash chivari chairs with optional use of two church pews. There’s a clear roof marquee here so you and your loved ones are sure to stay dry as you appreciate the impressive surroundings, and there’s an in-house PA with microphone, so everyone can hear every word of your promises to each other. You may also choose to opt for a rather grand-sounding Tower Ceremony, which as the name implies, is held in St Luke’s spectacular tower. Receptions are hosted in a marquee covering the main seating, the bar and dancefloor. It’s illuminated by spectacular lighting including fairylights and Edison lamps, and is beautifully decorated with wisteria arrangements suspended from the roof. Your chosen entertainment can wow the crowds from the stage until 11pm, with carriages at 11.30pm. You’ll also have onsite security and a wedding coordinator on hand to help you throughout, as well as professional bartenders who will staff the built-in wooden bar. St Luke’s Bombed Out Church works with a wide range of caterers to ensure your wedding has the perfect menu to suit your taste buds! From street food to an informal buffet to traditional wedding breakfasts the venue has established relationships with caterers across the North West. However, if there’s one you’d prefer to use, the team are happy to discuss with you and meet with them to make sure their setup is achievable within the Grade II listed building.
