We didn’t didn’t feel the need for extra entertainment as our wedding was late afternoon. The whole day went without a hitch thanks to the excellent planning of Abby from Batch Country House. Relax! I’m usually quite type A and was worried I wouldn’t be able to chill and enjoy the day, but that’s exactly I did. I kept telling myself: ‘If I haven’t thought of it by now, it isn’t important.’ We went to Cape Verde for a week on honeymoon. We planned this only about a month before our wedding. We had the most amazing time. Being parents to a toddler it was great to relax for a week and enjoy being newlyweds. Three-foot rustic love letters made an impact in our reception room. The cake was simple buttercream with faux flowers for decoration. Each tier had a different flavour to make it a little more exciting! These were Lotus Biscoff, Victoria sponge with raspberry jam, and lemon. 32
