Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding - February/March 2022 (Issue 87)

We had tall, green foliage centrepieces on some tables and stem vases on the others. A large green and white foliage arch welcomed guests into the church. There was also lots of foliage on the church’s window sills. Our cake was one of our favourite things from the wedding. We decided it would be fun to use it to tell our story. There was a London scene at the bottom (where we fell in love), Glastonbury Tor going up the side (we live in Glastonbury), our two gorgeous children sat half way up and the Colusseum was there too (representing our engagement). Plus, it tasted amazing! Hanging floral hoops and flowers were suspended from the bars up high on the ceiling of the marquee. We also had a stunning wooden circle bar, which we made a feature of in the marquee with a foliage hoop hanging above it – such a simple way to create a big impact. We opted for an A1-size printed table plan by our stationer, Lauren. Friends had told me that creating the layout would be one of the most difficult parts of wedding planning. But while George was out one night I made a start with it, and did it super-quickly. Everyone had a blast on their tables! REAL WEDDINGS 47
