Vicki and Steve met on Tinder in 2017, and got together for a first date at Nettle and Rye in Bristol. At the time, Vicki lived in Clevedon, and made a memorable exit when her Uber driver crashed into a bollard while reversing! The two soon went on a second date and before long they’d bonded over a love of food and enjoyed subsequent dates at foodie hotspots including Bravas and Poco Tapas in Bristol and Scoozi’s in Clevedon. As Vicki is a vet Steve also impressed her on an early date with a tour of Bristol Zoo complete with a quiz. After six years together Steve proposed to Vicki in a beautiful Prague park. He’d managed to surprise her, which we understand is quite an achievement as Steve is generally an open book. There was no corkage and no schedule, which was more than we’d hoped for,” Vicki shares. So, they didn’t hesitate in booking their date: 20th April 2024. Here, Vicki shares her treasured memories of the big day... With this in mind, their place settings were made from paper containing wildflower seeds, which explained to loved ones the fact that they’d made a donation to Parkinson’s UK in lieu of wedding favours. Steve was the main organiser of the big day and created all of the stationery himself including the table plan, order of service, and welcome packs. The table names were all cities the two have travelled to. Vicki put the centrepieces together with help from her bridesmaids using flowers from Common Farm Flowers, local to the venue. The team delivered a number of DIY buckets full of seasonal blooms grown on the farm. “The dried flower wreath making class they organised for my hen do was good preparation for this!” Vicki says. The bride’s bouquet, the bridesmaids’ and the buttonholes were all created by Stephanie Eastwood from Verbena Floral Styling using beautiful Britishgown, seasonal flowers. “This was important to me as I really wanted to celebrate British blooms, especially 38
