Our favours were personalised cookies in the shape of a maple leaf. They were hand-piped with our married name and the wedding date. Maple leaves were a focus as Chris was born in Canada. The place names were orange acrylic rectangles complementing the table plan, which I’d also used my Cricut to label. I made our table plan myself. I painted a sheet of plain acrylic orange and used my Cricut machine for the names, which I bought especially. I used hand-died terracotta fabric to drape over the coach house’s beams and scattered more handmade concrete pumpkins throughout. Our centrepieces were three cylinder-shaped vases of varying sizes with a large floating candle in each. These were nestled among artificial maple leaves, handmade plaster of Paris pumpkins, dried orange slices and eucalyptus. Our tables were named after varieties of tree, designed to match the place names and table plan. Our beautiful flower arrangements included a wide variety of blooms in all different shades of orange, burgundy and white, with plenty of greenery. I wasn’t very fussy when it came to the style of my bridesmaids’ dresses and let the ladies pick what they felt comfortable in. I also had two flowergirls who wore simple white dresses with a large bow at the back. I replaced the white ribbon with an orange one to match the older bridesmaids. 42
