Something new Becs and Mike chose the stunning Rackleys Chiltern Hills, a new venue located in Buckinghamshir , for their special day Images courtesy of Suzy Elizabeth Photography Becs and Michael met aged just 17 and were friends for almost ten years before becoming a couple. “Mike asked me to marry him while we were on holiday in Santorini in July 2018,” Becs tells us, “It was so romantic.” The couple chose the stunning Rackleys Chiltern Hills in Buckinghamshire in which to marry. “We viewed the venue in December 2020 before the renovations were finished and loved the mix of a traditional brick barn with modern touches. None of the landscaping had been completed at this point so we needed to use our imagination,” the couple explain. “Because we live local to the venue, it was lovely to be able to pop by for visits throughout the year and see the progress being made. Some of our friends had married locally so we were excited to get married in a venue that was new to the area and would be new to our loved ones, too.” On meeting Carol and Nick at Rackleys Chiltern Hills, the couple was confident that, because of the very high level of care and attention they had put into the renovations, plenty of thought had also been given as to how the venue would operate for weddings. “When we viewed the venue, it felt as though they had considered everything and that gave us a real sense of confidence in the remaining refurbishment and the approach they would take to our wedding,” Becs says. Here, Becs tells us all about their special day that combined timeless white flowers with a cake made by her mum and input from the couple’s friends.
