Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding - December/January 2024/2025 (Issue 110)

Allie and Rob met briefly at work when Rob was on a temporary contract for a week. “We never really spoke to each other and I regretted not getting to know him or plucking up the courage to ask him out for a drink,” Allie tells us. “Four years later, I was starting a new job and as I walked into the office, I couldn’t believe Rob was sitting at the desk. The timing was never right for us as we both ended up being in relationships when the other was single. Still, we became close friends, regularly sharing relationship advice in the hope either of us would become single! We parted ways and two years later I got a text from Rob to see if I wanted to go for a drink. I agreed and quickly found out we were both single. I moved into his apartment six months later!” Rob proposed on the 4th of January 2023 on Allie’s birthday. “He came home from work, said goodnight to our daughter and walked in with a card and cake,” she tells us. “He asked me to be his wife and was standing holding a ring, I burst into tears and jumped into the air shouting ‘yes’!” SETTING THE SCENE Allie and Rob wanted a simplistic, elegant wedding with a blackand-white theme. “We wanted a barn-style venue that was contemporary to match the classic theme we had in mind,” they “There was a feeling of excitement but also nerves as the big day arrived after all the months of planning, trying to agree on flower selections and cake flavours! We both felt a sense of relief when we saw each other at the end of the aisle, finally with each other and about to start one of the happiest days of our lives.” - Allie and Rob. “Allie looked incredible!” - Rob.
