Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding - December/January 2024/2025 (Issue 110)

We designed our place names, and stationery, to match the bouquets, table plan board, table numbers and order of service. Everything featured wildflowers and we hand-wrote all the guest’s names for a personal touch. Adam wore a navy double-breasted suit with a polka dot navy tie. His groomsmen also wore navy suits with sage green polka dot ties to differentiate from Adam. We allowed them to pick their attire to feel comfortable and to have a suit that they could wear again after our wedding. The speeches were wonderful. Each one was different, both in tone and delivery, but they all had touching references that meant a lot to us personally. They got everybody in the room laughing and crying in equal measure! We both love Italian food, so we chose to have an Italian menu. We didn’t want anything too pretentious or formal and wanted everyone to enjoy a hearty comforting meal so we had a sharing-style menu of antipasto to start, lasagne and pesto pasta for the main course and tiramisu for dessert. The food was delicious with large portions. Everyone was saying on the day how much they loved it, and how it was the best food they’d had at a wedding, which was wonderful to hear! Our caterers, Total Hospitality, did an incredible job and were extremely attentive throughout the day, to all guests but also specifically to us, making a point of ensuring we had canapés first at the reception, always topping up our drinks and providing refills, and ensuring we were happy. “One of my best friends did a reading for me that she wrote herself, and it was the most incredible and beautiful poem about mine and Adam’s relationship. She read this during our ceremony and we were so touched with how beautifully written it was, and were so grateful for this truly special gift.” - Alice 41 REAL WEDDINGS
