Carley and Matt met through a mutual friend at City of Oxford College during a night out. “We both found it so easy to talk to each other, it felt like we had been friends for years,” they tell us. Matt surprised Carley by proposing on her birthday during a walk around the lake at Blenheim Palace. “Blenheim Palace has sentimental meaning for us because it’s the location of one of our first dates, Carley says. SETTING THE SCENE The couple arranged their wedding at Caswell House in Brize Norton, Oxfordshire. “It’s a stunning venue and the team helped provide a superb location for us to celebrate our marriage,” they tell us. “The barns are stunning and the perfect setting for a wedding. The staff were so helpful in the lead-up to our big day, and we didn’t have to worry about anything on the day as they had it all under control. We could trust them with everything which allowed us to enjoy the best day of our lives with our friends and family. It was a great location for our loved ones to gather for our celebration. The ceremony stood out the most for us. Having our loved ones there to witness our marriage was truly special and meant a lot to both of us.” Carley and Matt chose a natural green and white wedding theme. “Matt’s mum made each of our guests a decorative clay ornament painted white with eucalyptus leaf details,” Carley tells us. “She has an artistic flair and these personalised favours that doubled up as place names were useful because our guests could take them home.” Carley and Matt’s centrepieces were large pillar candles in hurricane vases surrounded by white roses and eucalyptus. “Our cake “We both felt nervous but excited to be husband and wife.
