arrangements to look wild and include as many varieties as possible mixed with plenty of foliage. “We placed the stunning bridesmaids’ bouquets on six of the tables as centrepieces and had stem vases displayed on the other six,” Amy explains. “They were arranged on stacks of old books provided by our florist. We had more books and stem vases running along the side of the barn during our wedding breakfast which looked great.” The couple’s florist added flowers to their cake which also featured a cake topper with their names and wedding date on. “I made the confetti by drying flower petals,” Amy tells us. “It was given to guests in cones made from the pages of a book.” During their wedding breakfast, one of the bridesmaids gave a speech and quoted from Amy’s favourite TV show, The Good Place: “This is what we’ve been looking for since the day we met. Time. That’s what the Good Place really is — it’s not even a place. It’s just having enough time with the people you love.” Amy tells us, “This was wonderful to hear on our wedding day and made me cry!” LOOKING THE PART When it came to wedding dress shopping, Amy knew that she wanted an A-line skirt to feature on her gown. “I had some off-the-shoulder sleeves added to my chosen style which I teamed with my Tiffany & Co. necklace,” she tells us. “I wear this necklace every day anyway and the underside of the heart is a shade of Tiffany blue which became my something blue. I also wore a pair of glittery Swarovski crystal earrings and my favourite part of the outfit was my cathedral-length sparkly veil.” Luke wore the same suit as his best man. “I chose black suits because I wanted them to look classic,” he tells us. “The green tie matched our theme and myself, my best man and my dad had flowers in our lapels which coordinated with the rest of the flowers.” The couple’s bridesmaids chose their outfits. “We didn’t like the idea of our bridesmaids being forced to wear things they weren’t comfortable in and wouldn’t wear again,” Amy says. “The brief we gave them was green and formal but other than that, they could choose what they wanted - we love the mismatched styles and think they all looked really wonderful!” TIME TO CELEBRATE Amy and Luke created a crossword puzzle for their guests to do during the day. “It was made up of clues about us,” Amy says. “We also had a games table set up on the mezzanine level of the barn which went down well!” Amy and Luke enjoyed their first dance to Running by James Bay. “We had a live band, DAMM perform during the evening and ever since our wedding, they have been the thing that our guests have complimented the most!” they tell us.
