Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding - June/July 2024 (Issue 107)

Our groomsmen wore the same as Rob, without the waistcoat. Instead, they had black cummerbunds. I teamed my dress with a veil, a pair of pale blue shoes by Loeffler Randall, a Swarovski necklace that was a gift from my mum years ago and I borrowed a pair of diamond stud earrings from my mum. I didn’t know what style of wedding dress I wanted, although if I look back at it now, the one I chose was the most obvious style that I would pick so Rob wasn’t surprised at all! Top tip: “Say together throughout the day - you don’t want to have separate memories and stories from it.” - Carmel and Rob I made a selection of disco balls in different sizes after deciding they were too expensive to buy. We placed it on the dancefloor alongside large blue C&R initials. Our red velvet cake featured two gold cats on the top tier as a nod to our pet cat, Marla, who also featured in the photographs as I was getting ready and we had a floral headband made especially for her! At our wedding breakfast, our guests tucked into Caprese salad to start, chicken or sea bream as the main course followed by a delicious chocolate brownie for dessert. Our guests enjoyed pizzas during our evening reception which went down a treat! Rob wore a blue velvet dinner jacket teamed with a pair of smart dinner trousers, white shirt, a black bow tie and a pair of cufflinks. He stood out by wearing a tartan waistcoat which was a reference to his Mckenzie and Harris roots. 42
