Sharon and Richard met via a dating site. “After messaging for a few weeks, we enjoyed our first date in a lovely pub in the Cotswolds,” Sharon tells us. “It was love at first sight, we didn’t stop talking the entire evening! We had plenty in common in terms of interests and both had children of a similar age.” Richard proposed on Christmas Day 2021 at home. “He cleverly hid the engagement ring inside a Christmas cracker,” Sharon tells us. “It was pulled at the end of our family dinner resulting in a big surprise!” SETTING THE SCENE Sharon and Richard’s marquee reception followed an English garden theme with touches of cream and green. “We wanted a classic country wedding so we chose a vintage-style marquee with teak poles, up-lighters and a vintage-inspired bar,” Sharon says. “It was positioned in the paddock opposite our house which is a beautiful spot in the countryside, close to the church where we held our ceremony and on level ground.” The couple were transported to the church and then on to their reception in a glamorous cream and black 1937 Rolls-Royce limousine. “We also had Richard’s 1950s-style red race car affectionately named Brum transport us to our hotel,” Sharon tells us. “I was fashionably late to the ceremony which made Richard a bit nervous!” Richard adds, “Seeing Sharon in her beautiful dress for the first time was a wonderful moment I’ll never forget and also seeing all of our children – Charles, Cameron, Darcey and Jessica gathered as part of our bridal party was an emotional moment. I also loved watching Sharon’s face when the flash mob of musicians started to perform at the moment we turned around to walk down the aisle as husband and wife!” The couple’s sermon given by their local vicar was very moving. “It “Our photographer, Katie took some amazing photographs and her attention to every detail was wonderful.The exquisite pictures captured the spirit of our wedding and we have a good combination of formal and informal photos showing many of the wonderful and treasured moments.These are special memories that we will cherish forever.” - Sharon and Richard 33 REAL WEDDINGS
