Start with the logistical parts like the venue, guest list and booking someone to marry you. Then you can move on to the fun parts like planning the décor!” - Issy dresses, which were all lovely, but I had seen a dress in the window which I just needed to try on. As soon as I walked out of the dressing room my mum, sisters and mother-in-law all gasped so I knew it was the one! It was an off-the-shoulder design with a thigh-high split, long train and classic buttons placed all down the back, it also had pockets!” Issy accessorized her dress with a cathedral-length veil decorated with small pearls. “I wore a pair of rose gold drop pearls for my earrings, which matched with my rose gold ring,” she tells us. Adam, the groomsmen and the couple’s fathers all wore classic black-tie tuxedos and Archie matched his daddy in a mini tux and fully stole the show! “Adam wore bumble bee cufflinks as a nod to me because when I was little, my parents would call me Issy Bee which was a special touch,” Issy tells us. “My main priority was to make sure all my bridesmaids were happy and comfortable with how they looked so I just gave them one colour, sage green, and asked them to pick their own style of dresses. Luckily, they all chose stunning gowns which came together so well. My make-up artist, Annabelle, also did the girls’ make-up and made them all glow!” Issy loves the traditional elements of weddings so had each of her bridesmaids and her mum be responsible for one of her ‘somethings’. “My mum gifted me my dress which was my something new, and my best friend, Lucy, got me a little blue charm for my bouquet,” Issy says. “My something old was from my sister, Geena, which was our favourite book when we were children which is called The Chocolate Wedding. I was able to read this to Archie in the morning which was so special. My something borrowed was from my other sister, Holly. It was a small flamingo charm which she had used on her wedding day, a symbol that represents our sister, Hannah and it was a really sentimental way to feel like she was with us on the day too.” TIME TO CELEBRATE The couple’s first dance stood out for Adam. “During the lead-up to the wedding, we listened to it a lot,” he tells us. “It was to Stand by Me by Ben E King and Archie loved to dance to it so when he came on the dancefloor and joined us it was a wonderful moment.” There were garden games provided for guests to enjoy during the drink reception. “In the evening, we had a fabulous DJ who took all our requests on board,” Issy says. “During the meal, we had put a disposable camera on each table along with an ‘I spy’ list and each guest had to take a photo from the list and then pass it down the table.” 34
