Daniel’s dad has an old MG which he used to drive Dan to the ceremony in. We then drove off in it after our nuptials. I travelled to the venue in a baby blue vintage car and we booked taxis for all of our bridesmaids. We hired the chairs and the central round bar which was a must-have! We had birch trees tied to the poles in the centre of the marquee that looked incredible and we hired tables, cabinets and bookshelves to give the wedding a rustic and charming feel, and to match the earthy tones of the flowers. Because my dress featured plenty of detail, I didn’t want to wear too many accessories so I chose a silver hair clip that I already owned to complement my half-up, half-down style. I also added a long veil. The founder of Finishing Touch did my make-up, and her assistant did our bridesmaids’ hair and make-up. Our table names and place names were hand-written cards using calligraphy made by my cousin. Top tip: “Accept that not everything will be perfect; things might not go exactly to plan, but enjoy the day and understand that’s what makes the day unique to you both and so special. Just enjoy the ride!” - Joanna and Dan 43 REAL WEDDINGS
