Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding - August/September 2023 (Issue 102)

Stephanie and Harrison met in college when they were 16 years old. “I was studying a beauty course and Harrison was studying music,” Stephanie says. “I found Harrison to be outgoing, passionate and charming which brought out the best in me.” Harrison adds, “I was in awe of how popular Stephanie was and she was also beautiful!” Harrison got down on one knee and proposed on Christmas Day by the River Thames in Henley which is where Stephanie had told him that she wanted to move in together. SETTING THE SCENE Silchester Farm was the perfect fit for the couple’s wedding. “We first had a call via Zoom with the team who showed us around the newly renovated site virtually,” they tell us. “We both fell in love with the rustic and natural feel of the farm. When we visited it in person, we were told that the owners find vintage furniture and upcycle pieces to use at weddings held at the venue which is something we do ourselves at home so it felt like a match made in heaven.” The couple decided on three long banquet tables and a sweetheart table for themselves. “Our beautiful centrepieces were garlands teamed with tall dinner candles in pastel colours,” Stephanie tells us. “These were styled alongside hand-written place names on cotton paper and signs made out of rock placed at the end of the tables as the table names. We also had matchbox favours personalised with the words ‘The Perfect Match’ and small bottles of damson-flavoured vodka made by Harrison’s parents.” Stephanie and Harrison chose spring meadow troughs filled with wildflowers. “These were placed on linen table runners and surrounded by candles. We also had glass bowls overflowing with delicate spring flowers on our top table.” Guests tucked into an Italian-themed wedding breakfast of grazing “We both felt excited, nervous and ecstatic to see one another – and so in love.” – Stephanie and Harrison 43 REAL WEDDINGS
