Katie and Matt met online while Katie was working in Amsterdam and Matt was living in the UK, with Katie soon due to be relocating back home to the UK. “We exchanged plenty of messages in the month or so before we met in person and then had our first date,” Katie tells us. “Our sense of humour and values were our biggest attractions! I noticed how kind Matt was and we both wanted the same things out of life. Our first date flew by with no awkward moments and by our third date, we both knew each other was the one.” Matt proposed on Christmas Eve 2020 (Katie’s favourite day of the year), after a dog walk. “There was a Christmas decoration under the tree in a box that said ‘Katie, will you marry me’ which was a complete surprise to me!” she tells us.
