HAYLEY SAGE | V-DUB RIDES www.vdubrides.co.uk Tell us a bit about V-DUB Rides We’re celebrated our 17th anniversary this August. We have ‘Billy Lovebug’ our 1971 Triple White VW Beetle Karmann Cabriolet seating three passengers or ‘Lyla Lovebus’ our 1962 Split Screen Camper that seats six passengers. What can couples expect from your service? I love to go that extra mike to make sure my couples enjoy their special journey. They are my main focus and priority throughout the time I’m with them, whether it be taking that special photo, helping with the dress, stopping for a breather, holding their drinks, the list goes on, I’m always suggesting ways to make the experience one to love and remember. On board we provide water, sweets and blowing bubbles (to keep the children entertained). Also, the all-essential tissues for the emotional moments! Drinks are welcome on board, we even have a built-in bottle opener in the camper and I provide ice buckets, glasses and ice for those that want to bring bubbly - or we have a drinks package. There’s also a hamper in the camper full of fun glasses for those wanting to get a few silly snaps on the journey. I also have a hidden hamper in my boot filled with oil, cleaning products, fuses, bulbs and other essential items that come with owning a classic vehicle. Tell us more about the cars... Both VWs are dressed with ribbons or bows in the couple’s choice of colour - I also match the garland on the bumper to their colour scheme with faux and fresh flowers. I often wear a dress keeping in colour with there theme too! For the winter months, I bring blankets, hot water bottles, fairylights and candles - plus the bus has a heater. What else should the soonlyweds know before booking? Music is a must on board the VWs. I speak to the bride and gauge how she’s feeling. Sometimes it may be a quiet journey to chat to her father, mother or whoever. Often, we have brides and bridesmaids on board who start off the singing and don’t stop, I have some special girly playlists with some great belters to sing along to. Equally, the groomsmen have a cool playlist ready for those who can’t decide. Passengers can bluetooth stereo to my Apple tunes, so anything goes. On arrival I usually play Marry you by Bruno Mars, it instantly makes people smile. I aim to make the journey one to remember and will always put the bride at ease if I feel she’s nervous. Everyone absolutely loves our quirky arrival and departing horn that simply makes everyone smile. We toot at people whilst driving and often the bride is in giggles laughing, I think it helps with the nerves, personally. 74
