the word Andrea and Terry are living proof that a holiday romance can last forever Images courtesy of David Islip Photography Andrea met Terry on the Greek island of Santorini. “We were on a tour of the village of Oia, and I wandered off and got a little lost,” says Andrea. “Luckily I spotted Terry, who’s 6ft 5”, above everyone else in the crowds. After a little small talk, I started ranting about the various contractors who were working on my house – only to discover Terry qualified as an electrician in his early career! We then had a fun and feisty discussion, with Terry deciding he needed to re-educate me that not all contractors can’t be trusted!” Terry popped the question on a rainy trip to the beach. “He drove us to St Lawrence Bay where The Wade joins it, insisting on taking his backpack, which he often does when we go walking,” continues the bride. “Being nervous, he got lost, and being a man wouldn’t ask a local the way – so I had to! When we got there, Terry suggested we look out to sea, before he knelt down and started fiddling with his bag. Suddenly, I felt a tug on my jacket and heard Terry say, ‘While I’m down here…’. I turned to see him holding a heart-shaped ring box, and when he asked me to marry him I was so lost for words I started to cry. The ring box contained a plumber’s olive, along with the words ‘IOU’, as he was brave enough to propose, but wise enough to not choose my ring!” The couple married on the 30th April, 2022, choosing Layer Marney Tower for their venue. Here, Andrea tells us more about their day… GREECE IS 43 REAL WEDDINGS
