Bridal designer Sabina Motasem wins Marie Claire Award

Bridal designer Sabina Motasem wins the 2023 Marie Claire Sustainability Award for the second year in a row. Sabina Motasem, who founded the label in 2006 says, "To say we are completely blown away is an understatement. We're on a mission to prove beautiful design AND regenerative sustainability can seamlessly go together." Sabina has continued to make workwear tops for Smartworks from silky off-cuts and now transforming more waste fabrics into baby clothes for a refugee charity called AFRIL to further reduce the brands carbon footprint and have zero waste. And that's not all – all plastic zips have been removed, care labels are made with GOTS-certified (organic) materials and dress covers are now beautifully home-made with no zips. All old samples get regularly donated to ethical bridal outlet, Brides Do Good too.

They can experiment with different necklines, sleeve styles, and draping techniques to find the most flattering look for their unique features." Megan continues, "A huge plus to multiway dresses is their re-wearability - making them a more eco-friendly option as well.
