Hair stylist Rebecca Clark shares her suggestions for an October wedding.
"Personally, I think the time of year shouldn’t affect the hairstyle that you choose. With the right hairstylist and products, your dream style can be created at any time of the year. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and that you feel like you! Don’t choose a style because you think it’s bridal or will last all day. Choose your style because it’s the hair that you’ve always dreamed of. I would quite often recommend my brides to use clip-in hair extensions to ensure that the style holds all day, including all of the dancing in the evening."

ThinK Wine is a healthier prosecco and sparkling rosé brand. A glass of ThinK Wine has just 75 calories, low carbs, and 0.58g of residual sugar per 125ml. That’s a significant reduction in sugar for the award-winning wine that aims to offer an alternative to sugar-filled competitors. The product contains no artificial sweeteners or ingredients while still retaining an ABV of 11%. ThinK Wine has a fresh and revitalising finish, despite the health-conscious benefits. All of the brand’s wines are 100 per cent vegan and organic and are low in sulphites, meaning less of a hangover too. The brand currently has two main product lines, with more product development in the pipeline for 2024.
What’s more, the company also offers a retro VW Campervan that can be used for weddings. It’s available to hire with or without staff, serving up its low-sugar wines that taste amazing while retaining all of the percentage volume.
Owner Kath Jones tells us: “I know this concept is a winner. I made it for myself, but it’s turning into a hugely popular product. When people try it, they love it! They can’t believe it is a low-sugar product. People are increasingly health conscious; they are more switched on to things like sugar addiction, additives and sulphites, but they also still want to be able to enjoy a drink now and again. With no palatable alternative available on the market, I felt moved to create something. That’s how ThinK Wine was born, and we’ve been growing ever since.”
Exclusively for Your North West Wedding, ThinK Wine is offering our readers a 20 per cent discount off wine when you use the code NWW20 at www.thinkwinegroup.co.uk. Offer ends on 30th November 2024.

Captured amidst the dramatic backdrop of Cave Hotel & Golf Resort, this styled shoot showcases a modern twist on a fairytale wedding. “The photo shoot brought together a team of talented suppliers to create a scene bursting with vibrant colours and contemporary elegance,” says Kayleigh Wild from Cave Hotel & Golf Resort. “The Korean Cowgirl Ceremony Space, known for its eclectic ambiance featuring captivating graffiti, served as the perfect canvas for this celebration of love. The juxtaposition of urban art against the backdrop of a traditional ceremony space created a one-of- a-kind setting, setting the stage for a wedding shoot that breaks away from the ordinary. Breathtaking floral arrangements by Mimi Fleur served as the centrepiece of the event. Featuring a symphony of bright hues, the flowers transformed the space into a whimsical wonderland. The bride, wearing a stunning gown by Victoria’s Bridal Boutique Ltd, stole the show with bows in her hair.
“The Cave Hotel provided the ideal backdrop for this wedding vision. Its dark and captivating atmosphere created a truly unforgettable experience. This collaborative effort not only showcases the talent and creativity of these wedding industry professionals but also provides engaged couples with inspiration for their own celebrations. Whether you’re planning an intimate gathering or a grand celebration, the Cave Hotel & Golf Resort offers a range of options to suit your style and preferences.”

Sarah Scorey from Withmylittlecamera Weddings put together this styled shoot with the help of talented local suppliers. “Elyn Boutique approached me on Instagram to ask if I would be interested in organising a styled wedding shoot at a venue they were styling, and I just had to say yes,” says Sarah. “Once they showed me the colour scheme they were thinking of and the flowers and décor that would go with it, I was extremely excited to begin planning the shoot. I wanted to create something elegant and romantic to highlight all of the amazing suppliers’ hard work and showcase our talents in the best light, and I definitely believe we achieved that. It was a fantastic day (even if the weather didn’t always cooperate) filled with lots of laughter and creativity.”

Stanmer House is a venue shoot coordinators Harleigh Slaughter and Zoe Miles from Inclusive Events have wanted to work with for years, so when they started talking to the events manager a date fell into place and everything came together beautifully.
The main wedding space here is grand decorated mainly in white, so the temptation may have been to fill it with plenty of colour. However, Harleigh and Zoe decided to take a different approach and keep things more neutral. Words that came to mind for them were elegant, classy, and simple, maintaining the character of their surroundings. This was about showing off the space as much as it was about showing off everything else that goes into a wedding. Each of the suppliers involved had the moodboard and were given creative freedom to build something in line with the vibe – Harleigh and Zoe believe creative people work best when given some room to play.
“In terms of the image style, we needed to tell a story,” the duo told us. “Our favourite way to do that is through movement and intense close ups that capture the way the room makes you feel. We wanted the images to feel like you weren't just seeing the story unfold, that you were in it.” Mission accomplished we say!

Diane Barker from Butterfly Road Floral Design (www.butterflyroad.co.uk) says: Autumn is the most glorious season: it's the sunset of the year and a beautiful time to get married. Timing your wedding with the turning of the leaves means you'll be reminded of the best day of your life with a spectacular month of colour every year of your happily ever after.
Autumn florals are abundant, colourful, warm and joyful. They can also be exquisitely soft, subtle and complex. Autumn colours can be reds and oranges, but can also be dusky pinks with berry shades – think blackberries and chocolate cosmos next to the softest petals of a perfect Menta rose. I find the best way to explore a colour palette is to pick a favourite leaf or flower and look carefully at all the tones and shades that are already there using nature as the artist. The soft, warm sunlight of autumn makes for the most stunning photography and the potential for a beautiful outdoor ceremony is strong.
The abundance of autumn lends itself to vibrant arrangements that are just a little wild and free. Imagine walking down an aisle of gorgeous meadow-style flowers to a seasonal floral installation as the beautiful backdrop to your ceremony. That floral backdrop will frame you and your love as you exchange your vows and your ever so exciting first kiss as a married couple.
September's hero flowers are dahlias; I adore their incredible shape, stunning colours and romantic scent. I also love lightly dancing cosmos, frothy hydrangeas in every colour and the prettiest foliage to bring it all together. Grasses in installations and meadow designs reflect the season and, if used outside, will filter the sunlight for the prettiest effect. Tiny pumpkins in soft white can highlight your autumn theme beautifully too.
For a dreamy autumn reception, bud vases of the prettiest blooms are always on my favourites list and pin frog designs of dainty flowers such as cosmos and nerines look amazing. Consider adding some candlelight for a gorgeous glow as your day turns into the most romantic evening. Reflecting your autumn theme in your wedding flowers sounds glorious; it's my favourite floral season with an abundance of wonderful flowers to suit every taste. Happy planning!

Julie and Steve met on a dating site, and over time, their relationship blossomed. In 2022, for their one-year anniversary, Steve got down on one knee and proposed, which was a big surprise for Julie.
"Steve and I tied the knot at St Peter's Church in Carlton Colville, Suffolk," says Julie. "We went to a wedding fair at the Wherry Hotel and just loved it for our reception. We wanted a summer wedding, so we chose to incorporate flip-flops for our guests and flower seeds with our names on them. We also gave our friends and family scratch cards and sweets."

Amy and Daniel first laid eyes on each other in a nightclub in 2014. “My friend Louis introduced me to his cousin Daniel, and we got talking,” says Amy. “I soon found out that Daniel was the most down-to-earth and kindest person I have ever met. He always said that from the moment we met, he loved me. We literally spent every day together from then until now.”
Daniel proposed in 2017 outside of a restaurant. “It was a big surprise,” shares the bride. “I was told to get dressed up and that he was taking me out for dinner. He later told me after proposing that he was meant to do it in the restaurant but was too nervous! However, I thought him doing it outside was lovely and I would have been happy no matter what.”

We love flowers here at Your Kent Wedding, but with so many gorgeous blooms to choose from, it can be a bit overwhelming. There are lots of ways to incorporate flowers into your décor, such as bouquets, buttonholes, flower walls, table runners and pew ends, to name but a few. To help inspire you, we’ve asked Louise from Louise Roots Wedding & Event Florist to share her trend predictions for 2025.
"Meadow aisle flowers are probably our most requested design right now. These are perfect for creating a beautiful ceremony aisle, but they can easily be repurposed for the reception. They are great for placing at the front of the top table, below seating plans and at doorways and marquee entrances.
"Huge baskets filled with flowers and trees for the ceremony and reception and smaller baskets for the tables are popular. Bridesmaids’ baskets are making a comeback too. Loose and wild designs look great in baskets and are so pretty for a summer wedding.”

Ryan and Gareth from LetThemSeeCake reveal the things you should take into consideration before booking a cake maker for your wedding.
"With a long list of tasks to sort through before your big day, choosing a wedding cake should be one of the more enjoyable (and tasty) experiences of the whole process! You need a supplier with the experience to be professional and straightforward, and they need to give you confidence that they’re able to deliver a fabulous cake that will have your guests talking about it all day. How can you be sure that the cake maker you’re hiring is a true professional who will fulfil all their promises on the big day? Here are our top tips and essential questions to help you find a reliable and skilled wedding cake maker:
"Food hygiene rating and insurance: All top cake makers should have these as standard; the higher the rating, the better. Many wedding cake makers display their ratings on their websites or studio windows. However, if you’re unsure and want to confirm it yourself, you can always visit the Food Standards Agency’s website. While these hygiene ratings won’t reveal how tasty or visually stunning the cake will be, they are the best way to ensure your wedding cake is safe to eat. You can also ask if the cake maker has both product and public liability insurance; most will have one, but the top ones will have both!"
